I got this book because of a great review in Creative Loafing that called it "extraordinary and haunting." I couldn't agree more. Hume, in many ways, lived a relatively boring life, at least externally speaking. This is the only one I pick up for both detailed study and casual reading.. Even if concise, the book covers all the essential information to give you a very good understanding of Wlans.. A tech manual. I recommend it to my students as a quick introduction to Wlans. It does not claim to be, nor is it a comprehensive review of all issues, topics, hardware or software related to Wireless [Community] Networks.
On the plus side, the book is a quick 2 hour read, sort of an in-depth New York Times feature on the early stages of community wireless.. The content, however, was identical to the Haynes.
