Unless you have been cooking for a year or two, I think "How to Cook Everything: The Basics" will be an invaluable resource for the new cook. That to me is a GREAT BOOK, and a very talented Author.

If you are looking for a program or plan to get out of depression as I was, I don't think this is the book for you. I would have gotten the chiltons, but they were out.. The use of register--formal vs. A few select references to cases are included. I don't know why because I only skimmed the last several chapters. This book about talks about the generation and propagation of wind waves on the ocean surface. Short and useful. Does it have some suggestions for dealing with depression? Yes.
