The Berlin Wall has just come crashing down, marking an end to the Cold War, and as a result, the U.S. Army is facing a massive restructuring of purpose and personnel. During this turbulent time, 29-year-old Reacher, an MP major stationed to a base in North Carolina, is called on to investigate the death of a two-star general found dead in a seedy motel. Veteran reader Wolf, who has given voice to Reacher in seven previous novels, slips easily into this character; his calm, thoughtful delivery fits perfectly with Reacher's contemplative first-person narration. Then, when you entered the building there was color everywhere, a whole new style of furnishing and decorating and WOW those Marimekko fabrics. It provided the straight-forward information I needed during that time of my life. The style of writing actually added to that - leaving me feeling as if he were talking directly to his audience as if the reader were right there listening.
Of possible added interest, Fantino comments, with significant reservation, about how Wikipedia describes him and his life (as of the time of publishing). The whole freaking town is crazy. His way of doing Parts Therapy is the best I've seen, and he adds clarity to what regression therapy is all about. Yet, he is not "preachy" and his message is encouraging, not condemning.. an extraordinary book; should be reprinted.. There're several problems with this; 1) my 6 year old step daughter is constantly complaining that she shouldn't have to sleep alone and very jealous of the other adults in her life
