DIFFERENCES VERSUS ORIGINAL HtCE
The original How to Cook Everything is the first cookbook I bought and one of the best primers for anyone interested in learning to cook. I first experienced the Palouse Hills in 1969 when, having just returned form Viet Nam, I was traveling in a 1956 Studebaker pick up with my wife, 11 month old daughter and our mostly Springer Spaniel, "Mut," to my next duty station, Davisville, Rhode Island, the debarkation point for the Antarctic in those days. I eventually settled on this book, after already having bought Bittman's other cookbook and finding it too difficult to wade through.
