The author of Building Wireless Community Networks, Rob Flickenger, thinks this is a great idea. He's written this small, thin volume to explain to readers why wireless networking is a community asset, and to bring them up to speed on the technologies available for creating wireless hot spots. Community here means a collection of people, as in a town or neighborhood. On the plus side, the book is a quick 2 hour read, sort of an in-depth New York Times feature on the early stages of community wireless.. They kept the price down by keeping the images to a minimum and only to those that are in the public domain, so if you wanted a lot of color photos, this is not your book. There is a great deal of commentary about how the criminal justice system works in Canada and Fantino's view and philosophy about that. It does give an 'inside story' about the company and does a fairly good job of providing an overview of the company right from pre-inception to where it stands towards the end of 2009; it covers the early business approach, the financing aspects and transitioning as a major player with the introduction of BlackBerry.
